Hi guys! A few people have asked me how I’m working on White Nest, developing new product, doing custom orders, etc. with a baby. Yep, a bouncing, healthy, funny, amazing and oh-can-be-so-difficult six-month-old baby.
So I had to share this classic “working mom, everything went wrong situation…”.
Picture this: Me running around the house, trying to get the camera set up with the tripod, changing clothes and getting the lighting just so so I could take some photos of the jewelry line. All the while, Oliver is sitting/rolling on the floor, whining/crying and I don’t have a clue why (perhaps because I wasn’t entertaining him…:). So I’m singing to him, talking to him, making goofy noises to make him happy, all the while running around the living room…
So I decide (more like HE decides) that these noises were not going to work for him, so I pick him up. Picking up = happy baby. But I knew that I wanted to get these photos done when the daylight was good. So I’m testing out the camera and you guessed it, a giant amount of spit-up (a nice word for vomit) comes shooting out at me and all over my fresh clothes. I groan, quickly change and we’re back at it.
I try putting him down…no good. So I resolve to the fact that I’m going to have to hold him and take these photos. I set the self-timer, run in front of the camera and this is what I get:
A photo with two chubby bebe feet. I just start laughing and realize this is absolutely adorbs.
I hike him up higher and off to photo-taking we go! I took a moment (after I calmed down from my frantic running around) and realize that this working mom stuff is hard.
But I wouldn’t change it for the world. :)
Happy Friday!
By the way, it’s the last day for jewelry SALE! I’m not sayin’, but just sayin’…
You rock Momma!! So inspiring. As is your work. Keep it all up!
